In Fall 2018, the Center for Urban Environmental Reform co-hosted a day-long conference titled Separating Facts from Fake News: Environmental FOIA in the Trump Era.
The conference featured panels of environmental journalists and environmental law and transparency law attorneys, as well as breakout sessions where attendees grappled with current public records access and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) issues.
Continuing its collaboration with artist Charlie LaGreca, CUER used the conference to launch a new comic as part of the Environmental Justice Chronicles focusing on our right to information that affects our communities. Follow Mayah and Bina as they learn how to use the Freedom of Information Act to obtain information necessary to protect their Forestville community.
